Continuing to Give Back
The staff at Bank of Billings is doing its part in
helping the Billings and Marionville communities by raising money for those
in need and by collecting non-perishable food items.
During the holiday season, the Bank of Billings will have an angel tree,
which is sponsored by the Ministerial Alliance of Billings, to provide
children in the community with gifts, said Karri Stanton, bank vice
president.
At the Billings and Marionville locations, there are food receptacles for
non-perishable food items. The donated food will be given to families in
Billings and Marionville.
Stanton said collecting food for the holidays is essential.
"We like to give to the community and help all we can in our community,"
Stanton said.
The food will be distributed to Billings and Marionville families.
The staff also is helping the local schools with Dressing Down for Kids.
Each member of the staff can donate $1 per week to dress down, which means
the employees can wear jeans on Mondays and Fridays.
Stanton said the money from the branches will go to the Billings School
program Paw Packs and to help pay for the playground equipment at
Marionville Elementary.
Paw Packs is a program for children who may not have enough food for the
weekends. Each Friday, those children are given backpacks filled with food.
The children then return the backpacks on Monday.
Stanton said employees arent the only ones who can donate money for the
Dressing Down fundraiser. Residents can go to their local Bank of Billings
Branch and donate money. The Billings location is at 202 Northeast U.S.
Highway 60, and the Marionville location is at 511 South Chestnut.
Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006
The UIGEA, signed into law in 2006, prohibits any
person engaged in the business of betting or wagering (as defined in the
Act) from knowingly accepting payments in connection with the participation
of another person in unlawful internet gambling. The Department of Treasury
and the Federal Reserve Board have issued a joint final rule, Regulation GG,
to implement this Act.
As defined in Regulation GG, unlawful internet gambling means to "place,
receive or otherwise knowingly transmit a bet or wager by any means which
involves the use, at least in part, of the internet where such bet or wager
is unlawful under any applicable Federal or State law in the State or Tribal
lands in which the bet or wager is initiated, received or otherwise made".
As a customer of Bank of Billings, these restricted transactions are
prohibited from being processed through your account or banking relationship
with us. If you do engage in an internet gambling business and open a new
account with us, we will ask that you provide evidence of your legal
capacity to do so.
Please contact our Operations department if you would like additional
